Description

This Honey BBQ Chicken Rice recipe combines tender chicken breast with a sweet and tangy homemade BBQ sauce, served over fluffy white rice. It’s a quick, easy, and flavorful meal perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chicken pieces and season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until chicken is browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix BBQ sauce and honey. Pour over cooked chicken in the skillet.
  4. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  5. Serve chicken over cooked white rice.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Use store-bought or homemade BBQ sauce depending on your preference.
  • Add steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Swap white rice for brown rice or quinoa for a healthier option.
