Description
These honey garlic chicken bites are a quick and flavorful dish made with tender chicken pieces coated in a sticky, sweet, and savory sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Chopped scallions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, toss the chicken with flour and cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until everything is heated through and well-glazed.
- Garnish with chopped scallions if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs for a juicier bite if preferred.
- Double the sauce if you like it extra saucy.
- Serve over rice, noodles, or with a side of veggies.
