Description

These honey garlic chicken bites are a quick and flavorful dish made with tender chicken pieces coated in a sticky, sweet, and savory sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped scallions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, toss the chicken with flour and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until everything is heated through and well-glazed.
  8. Garnish with chopped scallions if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier bite if preferred.
  • Double the sauce if you like it extra saucy.
  • Serve over rice, noodles, or with a side of veggies.
