Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts recipe is a simple and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts glazed with a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, it pairs well with rice, veggies, or noodles.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear chicken breasts for 4–5 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
  5. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and chicken broth. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Optional: Stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet, coating each breast with the sauce. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute apple cider vinegar with white vinegar or lemon juice.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Serve with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or sautéed vegetables.
