Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken pieces, fresh vegetables, and a savory-sweet honey garlic sauce. Perfect for a busy weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup thinly sliced carrots
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the carrots and broccoli, cooking for 4–6 minutes or until just tender. Remove vegetables from the pan and set aside.
  2. Add the remaining 2 teaspoons of oil to the pan. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the pan. Cook for 4–6 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  3. Add the garlic to the pan and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Return the vegetables to the pan with the chicken.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce into the pan and stir to coat everything evenly.
  6. In another small bowl, mix the cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Add this to the pan and cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use any combination of vegetables you like, such as bell peppers, snap peas, or zucchini.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in some of the sauce for 15–30 minutes before cooking.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed rice or noodles.
