Description

A quick and flavorful dish featuring tender cod fillets pan-fried to golden perfection and coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for an easy weeknight seafood dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the cod fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the butter and minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  6. Return the cod fillets to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to coat and heat through.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce overall sodium content.
  • Substitute cod with halibut or tilapia if desired.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
