Description

This Honey Teriyaki Air Fryer Salmon is a quick and easy dish that combines the sweetness of honey and the savory flavors of teriyaki with perfectly cooked salmon, all made effortlessly in the air fryer.

Ingredients

2 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon minced ginger

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (to thicken the sauce)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional for garnish)

Chopped green onions (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Stir the ingredients over medium heat until the honey dissolves and the mixture begins to simmer.
  2. Add the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with water) to the sauce, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens to a syrupy consistency.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Brush the honey teriyaki sauce over the salmon fillets, ensuring an even coat. Set aside for a few minutes to allow the sauce to soak into the fish.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin-side down, and cook for 7-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets and how crispy you like the edges. The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 145°F (63°C).
  7. Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the air fryer. Brush the fillets with additional honey teriyaki sauce and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Spicy Teriyaki: Add chili flakes or sriracha to the sauce to make it spicier.
  2. Vegetable Side: Serve with air-fried vegetables like asparagus or broccoli.
  3. Gluten-Free: Use tamari sauce instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
  4. Storage: Leftover salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  5. Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-4 minutes or in the microwave.
