These Hot Honey Garlic Lil Smokies are a sweet, spicy, and savory appetizer that’s perfect for parties and gatherings. Featuring a flavorful sauce made with hot honey, garlic, and soy sauce, they come together quickly and are always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz) package of beef Lil’ Smokies
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup hot honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add in the hot honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Add the Lil’ Smokies to the skillet and stir to coat them in the sauce.
- Let them simmer for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and the smokies are heated through.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can adjust the heat by using regular honey instead of hot honey or reducing the red pepper flakes.
- This recipe works well in a slow cooker—just combine all ingredients and cook on low for 2–3 hours.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
