Description

These Hot Honey Garlic Lil Smokies are a sweet, spicy, and savory appetizer that’s perfect for parties and gatherings. Featuring a flavorful sauce made with hot honey, garlic, and soy sauce, they come together quickly and are always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) package of beef Lil’ Smokies
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup hot honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add in the hot honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the Lil’ Smokies to the skillet and stir to coat them in the sauce.
  4. Let them simmer for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and the smokies are heated through.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can adjust the heat by using regular honey instead of hot honey or reducing the red pepper flakes.
  • This recipe works well in a slow cooker—just combine all ingredients and cook on low for 2–3 hours.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
