Description

This Hot Honey Shrimp recipe features tender shrimp sautéed in a sweet and spicy hot honey sauce. Ready in under 15 minutes, it’s perfect for a quick dinner or appetizer with bold flavors and minimal ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Frank’s Red Hot or sriracha)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Chopped parsley or green onion for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season lightly with salt.
  4. Cook the shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque.
  5. Lower the heat to medium. Add honey and hot sauce to the skillet and stir to coat the shrimp evenly.
  6. Cook for another minute or so until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the shrimp.
  7. Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onion if desired.
  8. Serve immediately with rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes and hot sauce based on your heat preference.
  • You can use frozen shrimp, just make sure they are fully thawed and patted dry.
  • This dish pairs well with rice, noodles, or even as a taco filling.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated gently.
