Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup shredded chicken (cooked)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Naan or pita chips, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute more.
- Add garam masala, chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat onions in the spices.
- Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute. Stir in tomato sauce and heavy cream. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add shredded chicken and stir to combine.
- Remove from heat and stir in cream cheese until melted and well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with naan or pita chips.
Notes
- You can use rotisserie chicken to save time.
- Adjust cayenne pepper to control heat level.
- This dip can be prepped in advance and baked just before serving.
