Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded chicken (cooked)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Naan or pita chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute more.
  4. Add garam masala, chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat onions in the spices.
  5. Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute. Stir in tomato sauce and heavy cream. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add shredded chicken and stir to combine.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in cream cheese until melted and well combined.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with naan or pita chips.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper to control heat level.
