Description
Crispy beet chips are a healthy, colorful snack made from thinly sliced beets baked or air-fried until perfectly crunchy and lightly seasoned.
Ingredients
- 3 medium beets (about 450 g), washed and peeled
- 1½ tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika or chili powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the beets very thinly using a mandoline or sharp knife.
- Pat the beet slices dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Place the slices in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss until evenly coated.
- Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
- Arrange the beet slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes, flip the slices, then bake for another 10–15 minutes until crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes to crisp up further before serving.
Notes
- Slice the beets evenly to ensure uniform crisping.
- Watch closely near the end of baking to prevent burning.
- Store cooled chips in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
