Description
This irresistible sticky pineapple brown sugar glazed beef features tender beef strips cooked in a sweet and tangy glaze made with pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic. It’s a perfect blend of savory and sweet, ideal for a quick weeknight dinner or an impressive dish for guests.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
 - 1 cup pineapple juice
 - 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
 - 1/4 cup soy sauce
 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
 - 1 tbsp cornstarch
 - 1 tbsp water
 - 2 tbsp vegetable oil
 - 1/4 tsp black pepper
 - 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
 - Chopped green onions, for garnish
 - Sesame seeds, for garnish
 
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Set aside.
 - Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add half of the sliced beef and sear until browned. Remove and repeat with the remaining oil and beef.
 - Return all the beef to the skillet. Pour in the pineapple mixture. Bring to a simmer.
 - In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Add to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 2-3 minutes.
 - Season with black pepper and optional red pepper flakes. Stir to coat evenly.
 - Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
 
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
 - This dish pairs well with jasmine rice or stir-fried vegetables.
 - You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for variation.
