Description

This easy Lasagna Hamburger Helper is a one-pot meal that delivers all the comforting flavors of traditional lasagna in under 30 minutes. Made with ground beef, pasta, tomato sauce, and cheese, it’s a quick and hearty weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups dry pasta (like mafalda or rotini)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in beef broth, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add dry pasta to the skillet and stir to combine. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes or until the pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
  7. Optional: Top with dollops of ricotta cheese before serving and garnish with fresh basil or parsley.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Use any short pasta shape you have on hand.
  • Make it vegetarian by using plant-based meat and vegetable broth.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicier kick.
