Description
A refreshing and aromatic iced tea with a perfect blend of citrus and vanilla, this Lemon Vanilla Black Tea Iced Tea is a delightful twist on your regular iced beverage. Bold black tea, tangy lemon, and smooth vanilla make for a light yet flavorful drink that’s perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients
4 black tea bags
4 cups of water
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
1 lemon, sliced
Ice cubes
Instructions
- Bring the 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Let the tea steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the tea flavor.
- After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and stir in the honey or sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
- Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 1-2 hours to chill.
- Once chilled, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the cold tea over the ice.
- Add fresh lemon slices to each glass for a bright, citrusy touch.
- Stir and enjoy!
Notes
- If you prefer a natural sweetener, try using maple syrup or agave syrup instead of honey or sugar.
- Add a sprig of fresh mint or basil for an extra herbal aroma.
- Experiment with different citrus options like lime, orange, or grapefruit slices for different flavor profiles.
- For a more concentrated flavor, make a stronger tea base and dilute it with sparkling water for a fizzy twist.
- For a richer vanilla flavor, consider scraping a vanilla bean pod into the tea while it steeps.
