A bold Mediterranean bread dipping oil loaded with feta, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and herbs. Perfect for serving with warm crusty bread as an easy appetizer or mezze.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Kalamata olives, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, grated
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil, crumbled feta cheese, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, and chopped Kalamata olives.
- Add the grated garlic, fresh parsley, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and lemon zest.
- Stir well until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the oil.
- Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes so the flavors can blend together.
- Transfer to a shallow serving dish and serve with warm crusty bread for dipping.
Notes
- For a milder flavor, reduce the red pepper flakes or omit them.
- Fresh basil or thyme can be added for extra herbal flavor.
- Allowing the mixture to rest longer enhances the flavor infusion.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and bring to room temperature before serving.
