Description

Indulge in these delightful M&M cookie bars, filled with colorful candy-coated chocolates and gooey chocolate chips. Perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar (light or dark)
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups M&Ms (Red, white, and blue mix, or other colorful candy-coated chocolates)
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet fully with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Lightly beat the eggs to break the yolks. Add eggs and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate medium-sized bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients together.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and 1 cup of M&Ms using a wooden or silicone spatula.
  7. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking sheet and press it down.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of M&Ms across the top of the dough.
  9. Bake for 20–22 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. The center should move slightly when tipped but not be raw.
  10. Allow to cool on the pan for at least 20 minutes before cutting into 36 bars.

Notes

  • Don’t skip the cooling time—bars firm up as they cool.
  • You can use seasonal M&Ms to match holidays or events.
