Description
A quick and flavorful Mongolian-inspired beef noodle dish featuring savory and slightly sweet sauce, tender ground beef, and linguine noodles. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flake (optional)
- 10 oz linguine
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flake (if using).
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Add to skillet and bring to a gentle boil to thicken the sauce.
- Add cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
Notes
- Use low-sodium soy sauce to control saltiness.
- Adjust red pepper flakes based on spice preference.
- Can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Great for meal prep—leftovers taste even better the next day.
