Ingredients
1 can of crescent roll dough
1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup of pepperoni slices, cut into halves
1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning (optional)
Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Open the crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a flat surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles as per the instructions on the package.
- Place a small amount of shredded mozzarella cheese at the wide end of each triangle, followed by a few slices of pepperoni.
- Sprinkle some Italian seasoning on top if you like extra flavor.
- Carefully roll up each crescent dough triangle, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the tip.
- Arrange the rolls on the baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. If desired, serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Cheese Variety: Swap mozzarella with other cheeses such as cheddar, provolone, or a blend of Italian cheeses for a different flavor.
- Toppings: Add extra toppings like bell peppers, onions, or olives for a more personalized flavor.
- Vegetarian Version: Skip the pepperoni and add your favorite veggies such as mushrooms or spinach.
- Sauce: For a different twist, use pesto or Alfredo sauce instead of marinara for dipping.
- Storage: Store leftover croissant rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
- Reheating: Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes or until heated through, or microwave them for 20-30 seconds.
- Freezing: You can freeze the prepared rolls before baking. Bake them directly from frozen, adding extra baking time.
- Garlic Butter: Brushing the dough with garlic butter before baking adds extra flavor.
- Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free crescent roll dough if necessary.
- Mini Croissants: Mini croissants can be used, reducing the baking time slightly.
