Description
Nutella Puff Pastries are a quick and delightful treat combining flaky puff pastry with creamy Nutella, perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
- 1 package of prepared puff pastry, thawed
- ¾ cup Nutella hazelnut spread
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Unwrap and gently roll out both puff pastry sheets to slightly increase their size, keeping them similar in dimensions.
- Evenly spread Nutella over one puff pastry sheet, covering it entirely up to the edges.
- Place the second sheet over the Nutella-covered sheet, aligning the edges.
- Slice the layered pastry into ½-inch wide strips using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
- Twist each strip gently and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, shaping into swirls or leaving as twists.
- Beat the eggs in a small bowl and brush the tops of the pastries with the egg wash.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
- Let pastries cool for a few minutes and, if desired, dust with confectioners’ sugar before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in an air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 2 minutes to restore crispiness.
- Make sure not to over-roll the pastry sheets to maintain the flaky texture.
