Description
This oven-baked salmon is tender, flavorful, and coated in a savory garlic butter seasoning blend. It’s an easy and satisfying dish perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 (2-pound) whole salmon fillet (skin-on preferred)
- 3 tablespoons melted butter (or olive oil)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- ground black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Place a large piece of foil on a rimmed baking sheet and set the salmon fillet on top, skin side down. Crimp the edges of the foil around the salmon to form a shallow boat.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter and minced garlic. Brush half of this mixture over the salmon. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle evenly over the salmon, then drizzle with the remaining garlic butter.
- Bake for 15–22 minutes, depending on desired doneness. Optionally baste the salmon with juices halfway through cooking. Remove from oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then serve.
Notes
- Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork or reaches an internal temperature of about 125–145°F depending on preference.
- Use olive oil instead of butter for a lighter option.
- Serve with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
