Description

This Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle is a decadent dessert layered with rich brownies, creamy peanut butter filling, and whipped topping. Perfect for gatherings, it’s a show-stopping treat that combines chocolate and peanut butter in the best way.

Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional, for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanut butter cups (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the brownie mix according to the package instructions. Allow to cool completely, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, peanut butter, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Fold in half of the whipped topping into the peanut butter mixture until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk until thickened (about 2 minutes).
  5. Fold the remaining whipped topping into the pudding mixture to create a light mousse.
  6. In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer half of the brownie cubes, half of the peanut butter mixture, and half of the pudding mixture. Repeat the layers.
  7. Top with mini chocolate chips and chopped peanut butter cups if desired.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

  • You can make the brownies a day ahead to save time.
  • Use homemade brownies for a richer flavor.
  • Try freezing slightly before serving for a firmer texture.
  • Use sugar-free pudding and light whipped topping for a lighter version.
