Description

Buttery pecan cookies with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, lightly sweetened and optionally dipped in chocolate. These classic treats are perfect for holidays or a simple everyday indulgence.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 heaping cup chopped pecans (finely chopped)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: melted dark or milk chocolate for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the flour, chopped pecans, and salt. Mix until a crumbly dough forms.
  4. Using your hands, shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on an ungreased baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  5. Bake for 14–16 minutes, or until the bottoms are just lightly golden.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. If desired, dip half of each cooled cookie in melted chocolate and let set on parchment paper until firm.
