Description

A refreshing and naturally sweetened peach iced tea made with fresh peaches and black tea. Perfect for hot summer days and easy to prepare with just a few ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 2 more cups water (for after steeping)
  • Ice for serving
  • Fresh peach slices and mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, add 4 cups of water, sliced peaches, and maple syrup. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Use a spoon to mash the peaches and release their flavor. Remove from heat.
  3. Add the tea bags and steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on desired strength.
  4. Remove tea bags and strain the mixture into a pitcher using a fine mesh strainer to remove solids. Press to extract all liquid.
  5. Add 2 more cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  6. Refrigerate until chilled, then serve over ice with optional peach slices and mint.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup.
  • Use green or herbal tea as a variation.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 1 week.
