Ingredients
- 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste (optional)
- 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup Original Bisquick mix (or all-purpose flour)
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- Vegetable oil, for greasing and sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9-inch pie plate with vegetable oil.
- Heat a small amount of oil in a skillet and sauté the chopped onion for about 3 minutes until softened.
- Add the ground beef and cook for about 10 minutes until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Drain any excess fat and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared pie plate.
- Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese evenly over the beef layer.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until smooth and well combined.
- Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
- Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!

- Add chopped pickles, mustard, or ketchup on top for extra cheeseburger flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
