Description

Praline Crunch is a delightful treat that combines the rich, sweet flavor of praline with the satisfying crunch of nuts and crispy cereal. It’s a perfect snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup corn syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

4 cups rice cereal

1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently. Once it reaches a boil, let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will bubble up, so be careful.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the rice cereal and chopped pecans. Pour the hot praline mixture over the cereal and nuts, stirring gently until everything is coated evenly.
  4. Spread the coated mixture onto a lined baking sheet in an even layer.
  5. Allow the praline crunch to cool and harden for about 30 minutes. Once cooled, break it into pieces and serve.

Notes

  1. Substitute pecans with other nuts such as almonds, walnuts, or cashews for a different flavor.
  2. You can use other cereals like cornflakes, crispy wheat cereal, or granola.
  3. For a chocolate variation, drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled praline crunch.
  4. Spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or sea salt can be added for extra flavor.
