Description

Praline Crunch is a sweet and crunchy snack made with Crispix cereal and pecans coated in a rich caramel glaze, perfect for sharing during holidays or as a delicious homemade gift.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Crispix cereal
  • 2 cups pecan halves (salted)
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and pecan halves.
  3. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda until foamy and well combined.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal and pecans. Stir to coat evenly.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.
  8. Once done, spread the mixture on wax or parchment paper to cool.
  9. Break into pieces once cooled and store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use salted pecans for a nice sweet-salty balance.
  • Stirring during baking prevents clumping and ensures even coating.
  • Let the mix cool completely before storing to maintain crunchiness.
