Ingredients
- 8 cups Crispix cereal
- 2 cups pecan halves (salted)
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup corn syrup
- ½ cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and pecan halves.
- In a saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda until foamy and well combined.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal and pecans. Stir to coat evenly.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.
- Once done, spread the mixture on wax or parchment paper to cool.
- Break into pieces once cooled and store in an airtight container.
