Description

This Pumpkin Pie Crisp combines the creamy richness of classic pumpkin pie with a crunchy cinnamon streusel topping. A simple yet flavorful dessert perfect for fall gatherings and holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz) can pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ⅔ cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 12 tablespoons ( sticks) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a 12-inch cast iron skillet or a medium casserole dish; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, 1 cup sugar, eggs, pumpkin pie spice, ½ teaspoon salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream until fully incorporated. Pour the mixture into the prepared skillet or dish; set aside.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1½ cups sugar, cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon salt. Add the melted butter and stir with a fork until crumbly.
  5. Evenly spread the cinnamon streusel topping over the pumpkin mixture.
  6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the topping is golden brown. If the topping browns too quickly, lightly cover with foil.
  7. Allow the crisp to cool for about 10 minutes to firm up before serving.
  8. Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For added crunch, mix in chopped pecans or walnuts into the streusel topping.
  • To make ahead, prepare the pumpkin layer and streusel separately and refrigerate for up to 48 hours. Assemble and bake when ready.
  • Great served warm, but also delicious at room temperature.
