This homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte is a cozy and delicious fall-inspired drink made with real pumpkin puree, warm spices, milk, and coffee. It’s easy to make at home and tastes just like the popular coffeehouse version.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more for serving
- Freshly ground black pepper, a pinch
- 2 tablespoons sugar (or more to taste)
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups milk (any kind)
- 1 to 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong coffee
- Whipped cream, for serving
Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, a pinch of black pepper, and sugar. Cook for about 2 minutes until the mixture is hot and smells fragrant.
- Whisk in the vanilla extract and milk. Warm the mixture, making sure not to boil it.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and blend the mixture using a blender or a whisk until frothy.
- Pour the espresso or strong coffee into a large mug and add the frothed pumpkin milk mixture on top.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use any type of milk, including non-dairy options like almond, soy, or oat milk.
- Adjust the sugar to your taste preference.
- For a stronger coffee flavor, add an extra shot of espresso.
- Leftover pumpkin puree can be refrigerated or frozen for future lattes.
