Description

This homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte is a cozy and delicious fall-inspired drink made with real pumpkin puree, warm spices, milk, and coffee. It’s easy to make at home and tastes just like the popular coffeehouse version.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus more for serving
  • Freshly ground black pepper, a pinch
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or more to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk (any kind)
  • 1 to 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong coffee
  • Whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, a pinch of black pepper, and sugar. Cook for about 2 minutes until the mixture is hot and smells fragrant.
  2. Whisk in the vanilla extract and milk. Warm the mixture, making sure not to boil it.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and blend the mixture using a blender or a whisk until frothy.
  4. Pour the espresso or strong coffee into a large mug and add the frothed pumpkin milk mixture on top.
  5. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use any type of milk, including non-dairy options like almond, soy, or oat milk.
  • Adjust the sugar to your taste preference.
  • For a stronger coffee flavor, add an extra shot of espresso.
  • Leftover pumpkin puree can be refrigerated or frozen for future lattes.
