Description

A refreshing cucumber mint raita made with creamy yogurt, crisp cucumber, and cooling mint, perfect as a summer side dish to balance spicy meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt (curd)
  • 1 medium cucumber, finely grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the yogurt in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  2. Squeeze excess water from the grated cucumber and add it to the yogurt.
  3. Add chopped mint leaves, salt, black pepper, and roasted cumin powder.
  4. Mix everything well until evenly combined.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves if desired.
  6. Chill for 15–20 minutes before serving for best flavor.

Notes

  • Use thick yogurt to avoid watery raita.
  • You can add a pinch of chaat masala for extra flavor.
  • Serve chilled for maximum freshness.
  • This raita pairs well with biryani, pulao, or spicy curries.
