Description
These Roast Beef Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make party appetizer or weeknight dinner, featuring layers of roast beef, melty provolone cheese, and caramelized onions on Hawaiian rolls, all brushed with a savory buttery glaze and baked to golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 3/4 lb thinly sliced deli roast beef
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter (for onions)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for glaze)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp poppy seeds (optional)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp of butter and sauté the thinly sliced onions for about 15-20 minutes until caramelized. Set aside.
- Without separating the rolls, slice the whole pack of Hawaiian rolls horizontally. Place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
- Layer half the provolone cheese over the bottom buns, followed by the roast beef, caramelized onions, and the remaining cheese. Place the top half of the rolls over the layers.
- In a small bowl, melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter and mix with Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
