Description

These Roast Beef Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make party appetizer or weeknight dinner, featuring layers of roast beef, melty provolone cheese, and caramelized onions on Hawaiian rolls, all brushed with a savory buttery glaze and baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 3/4 lb thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter (for onions)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp of butter and sauté the thinly sliced onions for about 15-20 minutes until caramelized. Set aside.
  3. Without separating the rolls, slice the whole pack of Hawaiian rolls horizontally. Place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Layer half the provolone cheese over the bottom buns, followed by the roast beef, caramelized onions, and the remaining cheese. Place the top half of the rolls over the layers.
  5. In a small bowl, melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter and mix with Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds (if using), salt, and pepper.
  6. Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
