Description
Sausage French Toast Roll-Ups are a fun and delicious breakfast made with savory breakfast sausage links wrapped in flattened sandwich bread, dipped in a cinnamon-vanilla egg mixture, and pan-fried to golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
- 8 breakfast sausage links, cooked
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)
- Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions
- Cook the sausage links according to package directions and set aside.
- Trim the crusts off the bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
- Place one sausage link on one edge of each bread slice and roll tightly.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides evenly.
- Place roll-ups seam-side down in the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove from heat and serve warm with maple syrup.
Notes
- Make sure the bread is flattened well to prevent unrolling while cooking.
- You can secure roll-ups with toothpicks while cooking if needed; remove before serving.
- Try sprinkling with powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
- These can be made ahead and reheated in the oven or air fryer.
