Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 lb breakfast sausage (or any ground sausage)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Evenly spread the raw sausage over half of the puff pastry sheet.
- Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the sausage layer.
- Fold the puff pastry sheet over to cover the filling, pressing lightly to seal.
- Cut the folded sheet into 1-inch strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush each twist with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and sausage is fully cooked.
