Description
A savory, creamy quiche filled with flavorful sausage, tender spinach, and melted cheddar cheese in a flaky crust. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a make-ahead meal.
Ingredients
- 1 deep dish pie crust
- 8 oz breakfast sausage
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, finely diced (about 1/2 cup)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped if needed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Let the pie crust thaw slightly if frozen, or par-bake if homemade.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned. Add diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes, then stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a medium bowl, gently whisk together eggs, cream, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Stir the cooled sausage mixture, shredded cheese, and spinach into the egg mixture. Pour into the prepared crust.
- Place the quiche on a baking sheet and bake for 35–40 minutes, until the center is just set and the top is lightly golden.
- Let the quiche cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
Notes
- You can substitute turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter option.
- Frozen spinach can be used; thaw and drain well before adding.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat slices gently in the oven or microwave.
