Description
This easy and delicious Shrimp Boil is a Southern classic packed with juicy shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes, all boiled in a flavorful broth. Perfect for family gatherings or casual entertaining.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (0.6 kg) baby potatoes
- 4 ears corn, cut into thirds
- 14 oz (400 g) andouille sausage, sliced
- 1 lb (0.45 kg) shrimp, deveined with shells on
- 1 lemon, halved
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for serving)
- Chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water, enough to cover all the ingredients. Add Old Bay seasoning, smashed garlic, lemon halves, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Add baby potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes, until slightly tender.
- Add corn and sausage, and cook for another 5–7 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and cook until pink and cooked through, about 2–3 minutes.
- Drain the boil and transfer the contents to a large serving tray or parchment-lined table.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top and garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges and extra butter, if desired.
Notes
- You can adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing the Old Bay seasoning.
- Use large shrimp with shells on for best flavor.
- Optional: Add crab legs or other shellfish for variety.
