These Maple Vanilla Baked Pears are a simple yet elegant dessert made with ripe pears, maple syrup, and warm vanilla. Baked until tender and caramelized, they’re perfect for fall and winter entertaining or a cozy weeknight treat.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears (such as Bosc or Anjou)
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil or butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts, granola, Greek yogurt, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the pears in half lengthwise and use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and core.
- Arrange the pear halves cut side up in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, melted coconut oil (or butter), vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
- Spoon the mixture evenly over the pears.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and caramelized.
- Serve warm with your choice of toppings like yogurt, granola, or ice cream.
Notes
- Use firm-ripe pears so they hold their shape when baked.
- Customize with your favorite toppings—nuts, granola, or dairy-free alternatives.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of bourbon or sprinkle of nutmeg to the sauce mixture.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated gently before serving.
