Ingredients

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
  • 2 15-ounce cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 24-ounce jar marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • 12 cups shredded mozzarella
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Bread for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet.
  2. Add the sliced onion and sauté for 3–5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the chopped garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
