Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract and stir until well combined.
- Stir in the baking soda and salt.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
- Spread the dough into a 10-inch cast-iron skillet in an even layer.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is just set.
- Allow the cookie to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
Notes
- Do not overbake if you want a gooey center.
- You can use different types of chocolate or add nuts for variation.
