Description

This slow cooker chicken and gravy recipe is a comforting, no-fuss dinner made with tender shredded chicken simmered in a rich, savory gravy. It’s the perfect weeknight meal served over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 (0.87 oz) packets chicken gravy mix
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 ¾ cups water
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, water, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  5. Remove the chicken and shred it using two forks.
  6. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the gravy.
  7. Serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or biscuits. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of chicken broth instead of water.
  • You can use chicken thighs for a juicier texture.
