Description
These Slow Cooker Steakhouse Cowboy Baked Beans are a hearty, flavorful side dish packed with ground beef, smoked sausage, bacon, and a rich, tangy sauce. Perfect for potlucks, BBQs, or as a main meal with cornbread.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 (15 oz) cans pork and beans, undrained
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, smoked sausage, and chopped bacon over medium-high heat until the beef is no longer pink and the bacon is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion to the meat mixture and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Transfer the meat mixture to the slow cooker.
- Add the pork and beans, kidney beans, and black beans to the slow cooker (drain and rinse kidney and black beans).
- Stir in barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper.
- Mix everything until well combined.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Stir before serving and enjoy hot.
Notes
- These beans can be made a day ahead and reheated for even better flavor.
- Use your favorite barbecue sauce for personalized taste.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
