Description
Smothered Boneless Pork Chops are a hearty and flavorful dish, featuring tender pork chops simmered in a savory, creamy gravy made with onions, garlic, and seasonings. It’s a comforting and well-rounded meal perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
4 boneless pork chops
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.
 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
 - In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
 - Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic, stirring to coat. Cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
 - Gradually pour in the chicken broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Once the broth is incorporated, stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Let the sauce cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
 - Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes until the pork chops are tender and the sauce is thickened.
 - Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes
- You can add vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers to the sauce for extra flavor.
 - For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the sauce.
 - If you prefer chicken, boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs work wonderfully as a substitute.
 - To make the recipe gluten-free, use a gluten-free flour blend in place of regular flour.
