Description

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and Dijon mustard, bringing the sauce to a simmer. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top. Let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the chicken to soak up the sauce.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F internally.
  • Can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
