Description

These Soft Halloween Red Velvet Cookies are thick, chewy, and festive with rich red velvet flavor and white chocolate chips. Perfect for Halloween parties or spooky treats at home.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • Optional: Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg, vanilla extract, milk, and red food coloring. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles if using.
  7. Scoop the dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake the cookies to maintain their soft texture.
  • You can use gel food coloring for a more vibrant red hue.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze cookie dough balls for later baking if desired.
