Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 15 oz tomato sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened.
- Stir in tomato sauce, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
- In a separate bowl, mix together sour cream and cottage cheese.
- Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and toss with butter.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half the noodles, half the sour cream mixture, and half the beef mixture. Repeat the layers.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
