Ingredients
- 12 ounces egg noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in tomato sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer for about 5 minutes to blend flavors. Remove from heat.
- In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, cottage cheese, and sliced green onions. Mix until well blended.
- Add cooked noodles to the sour cream mixture and stir gently until evenly coated.
- Spread half of the noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with half of the meat sauce. Repeat layers, ending with the remaining meat sauce.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving to allow layers to set.
