This Southern Pecan Praline Cake is rich, moist, and packed with crunchy pecans. Topped with a decadent butter sauce, it’s a true Southern classic perfect for dessert lovers.
Ingredients
- 1 box butter pecan cake mix
- 1 (16 oz) tub coconut pecan frosting
- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, coconut pecan frosting, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until well combined.
- Fold in chopped pecans and pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool slightly.
- While the cake is baking, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in sugar and evaporated milk. Cook for about 5 minutes until sugar is dissolved and sauce is smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Slice the warm cake and pour butter sauce generously over each slice before serving.
