Description

Ingredients

  • 1 box butter pecan cake mix
  • 1 (16 oz) tub coconut pecan frosting
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, coconut pecan frosting, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until well combined.
  3. Fold in chopped pecans and pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool slightly.
  5. While the cake is baking, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Stir in sugar and evaporated milk. Cook for about 5 minutes until sugar is dissolved and sauce is smooth.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  8. Slice the warm cake and pour butter sauce generously over each slice before serving.
