Description

This Spiced Cranberry Punch is a festive and flavorful holiday drink made with cranberry and pomegranate juices, spiced with cinnamon, star anise, and cloves. Perfect for entertaining, it can be served warm or chilled and includes a splash of orange liquor and ginger beer for a bubbly finish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 12 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 star anise
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1/2 cup orange liquor (such as Grand Marnier)
  • 1/21 cup vodka (optional)
  • 12 cups ginger beer, for topping
  • Fresh cranberries and pomegranate arils, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves, and orange slices.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes to allow the spices to infuse.
  3. Remove from heat and strain out the spices and orange slices, if desired.
  4. Stir in the orange liquor and vodka (if using).
  5. Transfer to a punch bowl or pitcher and chill if serving cold, or keep warm on the stove if serving hot.
  6. Just before serving, top with ginger beer for fizz.
  7. Garnish with fresh cranberries and pomegranate arils if desired.

Notes

  • This punch can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days (without the ginger beer).
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the liquor and vodka, and replace with additional juice or sparkling water.
  • Adjust the amount of ginger beer to your taste preference for more or less fizz.
