Description
This Spiced Cranberry Punch is a festive and flavorful holiday drink made with cranberry and pomegranate juices, spiced with cinnamon, star anise, and cloves. Perfect for entertaining, it can be served warm or chilled and includes a splash of orange liquor and ginger beer for a bubbly finish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cranberry juice
- 2 cups pomegranate juice
- 1–2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1/2 cup orange liquor (such as Grand Marnier)
- 1/2–1 cup vodka (optional)
- 1–2 cups ginger beer, for topping
- Fresh cranberries and pomegranate arils, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves, and orange slices.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes to allow the spices to infuse.
- Remove from heat and strain out the spices and orange slices, if desired.
- Stir in the orange liquor and vodka (if using).
- Transfer to a punch bowl or pitcher and chill if serving cold, or keep warm on the stove if serving hot.
- Just before serving, top with ginger beer for fizz.
- Garnish with fresh cranberries and pomegranate arils if desired.
Notes
- This punch can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days (without the ginger beer).
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the liquor and vodka, and replace with additional juice or sparkling water.
- Adjust the amount of ginger beer to your taste preference for more or less fizz.
