Description

Make Starbucks-style cake pops at home with this simple recipe. Moist cake crumbs mixed with vanilla frosting, dipped in pink candy melts, and decorated with white sprinkles. Perfect for parties or as a special treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 box classic cake mix (plus ingredients called for on box to make the cake)
  • 3 tbsp vanilla frosting (pre-made)
  • 2436 Cake Pop Sticks or Lollipop Sticks
  • 12 oz Pink Candy Melts
  • White Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Make the cake according to the instructions on the box. Allow the cake to cool at room temperature.
  2. Remove the cake from the pan and discard the brown outside layer. Crumble the remaining cake into a large bowl.
  3. Add the vanilla frosting to the crumbled cake and stir until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into about 24-36 cake balls and place them on a lined cookie sheet.
  5. Place the pink candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir, then continue to heat in 30-second intervals until fully melted and creamy.
  6. Dip each cake pop stick into the melted pink candy, then insert them halfway into the cake balls. Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
  7. After chilling, dip each cake pop into the melted candy melts, ensuring it’s fully coated. Allow the excess candy to drip off.
  8. Place the cake pops in a block of styrofoam to dry, adding white sprinkles immediately before the candy solidifies.
  9. Repeat until all cake pops are coated and decorated. Once dry, they are ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ensure cake is completely cooled before crumbling to prevent soggy texture.
  • Don’t add too much frosting—just enough to bind the crumbs.
  • Work in batches when dipping to keep pops from getting too soft.
