Description

A classic sweet and salty layered dessert featuring a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy filling, and a refreshing strawberry gelatin topping.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping
  • 1 package (6 ounces) strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar. Press into a baking dish to form a crust.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool completely.
  4. Beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping.
  5. Spread the cream mixture evenly over the cooled crust, sealing edges.
  6. Dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Let cool slightly, then stir in sliced strawberries.
  7. Pour gelatin mixture over the cream layer.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until fully set before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream layer fully covers the crust to prevent sogginess.
  • Chill thoroughly before slicing for clean layers.
  • Frozen strawberries can be used if fresh are unavailable; thaw first.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
