Description

Sugar Cookie Truffles are a delightful dessert that combines the irresistible taste of sugar cookies with the creamy richness of chocolate. These bite-sized treats are perfect for special occasions or whenever you’re craving something sweet and indulgent. Easy to make and even easier to enjoy, these truffles bring together the best of both worlds: the crunch of sugar cookies and the smoothness of a decadent coating.

Ingredients

1 cup sugar cookie crumbs

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 ½ cups white chocolate chips (or white chocolate melts)

Sprinkles (optional)

¼ cup mini chocolate chips or additional sprinkles for coating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by crushing the sugar cookies into fine crumbs. You can use a food processor or place them in a resealable plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the crushed sugar cookies with softened cream cheese. Stir until fully combined, creating a dough-like consistency.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Place the truffle balls in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  5. While the truffles are chilling, melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring until smooth.
  6. Once the truffles are chilled, dip each one into the melted white chocolate, ensuring they’re fully coated.
  7. Place the coated truffles back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with optional sprinkles or mini chocolate chips for decoration.
  8. Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for faster setting.

Notes

  1. Store the sugar cookie truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  2. These truffles can be frozen for up to 3 months. To freeze, arrange them on a baking sheet and freeze until firm, then transfer to a freezer-safe container or bag.
  3. If using milk chocolate instead of white chocolate, the flavor and appearance will differ.
  4. For a richer flavor, try dark chocolate coating instead of white chocolate.
  5. Feel free to add vanilla or almond extract to the mixture for extra flavor.
  6. Use colorful sprinkles or candy melts for different themes or holidays.
