Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for the batter)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
-
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Bring to a simmer over medium heat until the butter melts.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
-
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring constantly until a smooth dough forms. Let the dough cool for a few minutes.
-
Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C).
-
Once the dough has cooled slightly, transfer it to a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped tip.
-
Grease the air fryer basket lightly or line it with parchment paper. Pipe small 1-2 inch long dough pieces into the basket, leaving space between each.
-
Air fry at 370°F (188°C) for 6-8 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
-
While the churro bites cook, mix 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
-
Once cooked, immediately toss the churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.
-
Serve warm and enjoy!
