Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
- 1 cup plain bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons dried basil
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease one or two baking sheets.
- Cube Chicken: Cube the chicken breast into bite-sized nugget pieces.
- Prepare Bread Crumb Mixture: In a small mixing bowl, stir together the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, dried basil, dried oregano, and salt.
- Melt Butter: Melt the butter in the microwave in 30-second increments until fully melted.
- Coat Chicken: Working one at a time, dip each chicken piece in melted butter to coat, then transfer to the bread crumb mixture and coat thoroughly. Place the coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet, leaving at least 1 inch between each piece.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until cooked through, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Notes
- For an extra crispy texture, you can add a layer of panko breadcrumbs along with the plain breadcrumbs.
- Feel free to customize the herbs in the breadcrumb mixture to your liking—thyme or parsley would work well.
- These nuggets can be served with your favorite dipping sauce, such as honey mustard or BBQ sauce.
